Breaking J.K. Rowling News of the Day: News from the industry vine this morning is that J.K. Rowling has officially signed a book deal with Little, Brown, and will soon be releasing her highly anticipated Harry Potter follow up.
No word yet on title, plot, or publication date, but word is that the book’s target audience will be adults.
“Although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series,” said the author in a press release.
The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry’s success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.

Going to School
Dread, fear and excitement fill me as I begin my daily ritual of getting up. It was the best of times and it was the worst of times. My sanctuary and my hell.
I have like two friends in the entire school. Both are not in my own grade. I act like I have many friends, but those two are the ones I always go back to.
I rush out the door, and into my dad’s car. I sit in the car, listening to my dad try to have a conversation with me.
It’s really hard, trying to act like nothing’s wrong with you. Like you don’t cry everyday when you get home from school.
